Why don't women like advice from guys?

I've heard lots of times that girls just wanta guy to listen.

So as a guy i am meant to listen and nod and say ';keep going, im listening';.

But as soon as a guy offers advice, it's a bad thing. Why is that? Why don't women like advice from guys?
It depends on what subject. If it's about sports or something guyish then maybe she will want your opinion. If it's about her clothes, makeup, girly stuff like that, then she will probably just want you to listen and then she'll go ask her girl friends later.

haha. Why don't women like advice from guys?
It depends on the advice. Females want to feel understood and listened to. I'm often happy to take advice from a guy if i think highly of him - its just i wouldnt take it from most guys unless i really think hes intelligent and i respect his opinion.

If a girl is interested in you then she will probably be happy to take advice from you. I personally have to think highly of a guy before i want to listen to his advice and i have to know that he actually cares about me and isnt just doing it to be patronising.
Advice is good, but don't roll your eyes and pretend like her problem is no big deal. Some of the best advice I've received has been from my guy friends. Just follow these rules:

1. Listen

You can't cut her off in the middle of her story. I know your brain might be screaming for her to get to the point, but the details are important to her, and she's important to you, so be patient and deal with it. :-)

2. Respect

You're a man. She's a woman. Mars and Venus. There are some things you just won't understand. However, there is one thing you do know. If you care about her enough to listen, you'll value her feelings, even if they seem completely ridiculous or irrational to you.

3. Sensitivity

Don't act like the world's expert on her life. Women can feel really vulnerable in these situations, so approach the problem with sensitivity.

4. Support

If she's crying, don't feel powerless. By just listening, you are helping her solve the problem. I don't want to generalize things here, but most women I know work out their issues by talking with their friends. It's like thinking out loud. You can remind her that you'll be there for her when life gets tough, that you'll always be there to listen and give advice, if she needs it.

5. Be yourself

Don't be afraid to tell her the truth, even if it hurts a little. It's important to be honest. Just deliver it in a way that she can accept.
It's not that we don't..I seek for advice from a lot of my guy friends..I guess it depends on the guy and his maturity. Usually some guys don't handle the situation maturely and in return we get an immature response..and that's not what we want to hear. Sometimes guys don't understand the situation quite clearly as they would like to, that's why majority of women turn to other women for advice because they're the same sex and they can relate..
Its not a bad thing when a guy offers advice . Girls just think that girls can understand them better. Girls like a girls advice because she knows that girls have been through that situation too, but we think its nice when a guy actually gives advice
I actually like getting advice from guys as long as it's insightful.
depends on tha guy..
thank god i am gay
