Women: Any Advice You Can Offer Me? Thanks!?

I have never been a makeup wearer, but am now interested in experimenting with it a little more. However, I don't want to go overboard and wear too much. I just want to try little things that might make a difference, but not TOO much of a difference. lol I'm starting this kind of ';late in life'; than most who wear makeup, because i'm in my mid-20's. For those of you who are pros with makeup, what advice would you give for someone who is just starting to become interested in wearing it?Women: Any Advice You Can Offer Me? Thanks!?
One of my favorite cosmetic lines is by makeup artist Bobbi Brown. Her makeup is famous for producing the natural look...the kind where people think you look great -- not that your makeup looks great if you know what I mean.

You can start with tinted moisturizer to help even out your skin and some powder. Keeping your face from being shiny is half the battle.

Lipstick/lipgloss in a light natural shade gives you a little polish....but for more impact, use shades of bone/brown/gold/copper on your eyes -- just some eyeliner or a brush of light color plus some black mascara will open up your eyes. Just don't use lots of sparkle everywhere. Choose to focus on your mouth or your eyes....

Its fun to experiment. If you live near a big city, go to your local Sephora -- and the makeup artists there will help you try on a look....take a friend, have her take a picture of you. Over time, you'll get used to seeing your face with a little extra highlighting

You should also have your brows shaped professionally (can cost $15-20 depending on where you go.) This will open up your eyes and face and you'll be suprised at how much easier it is to put eyeshadow on a hairless brow can be!

One more thing: just because you look more polished with a little makeup -- don't think you can't go out without it. I've been wearing cosmetics since I was 15 and have experimented with lots of different styles. I don't make up every day, but I make sure to practice good skincare (moisturizer/sunscreen) and am happy to face the world without a trace of makeup.

Being comfortable in your skin is what makes you uniquely beautiful.Women: Any Advice You Can Offer Me? Thanks!?
it is very important at your age to start (if you aren't already) on a good skin care plan. you should be cleansing daily if not twice a day, exfoliating once a week, and moisturizing after every wash.

the basic makeup skills are gonna take practice, and to recommend colors i would have to see you, but everyone falls category of what looks best with their skin tone and eye color, and if you know which ';season'; you are then that will be very helpful to you.

i recomend going to a makeup counter and asking for a make-over... they should be able to walk you through and set you up with a great skin care program and products.

i LOVE mary-kay, and recomend it for everyone, plus there is a 100% satisfaction guarantee and a try before you buy consultation, so go to marykay.com and find a consultant who will come to your house and give you an awesome consultation. you won't regret this decision.

everyone can benefit from makeup.

good luck and have fun!
Try your basic light colors as well as shimmery. The best advice I can offer you is to not focus on the eyes, try some light blush and some eyeshadow, maybe a pale lipstick should give you the effects you a looking for. The best place in the world to find the perfect make-up is Sephora check out their website. They have a lot of different brands to choose from.
You can start with a natural blush in soft colours; light-natural (a little coloured then your lips) lip colour or gloss, and no-colour mascara. You can also use brown mascara (you can go directly black if you have dark hair). Using eyeliners with brushes are a little harder so you can start with a soft pencil (brown-light brown).
I would start with light make up and natural colors if i was you. not to much and not to light it will be just right.
To be honest, I would go to a make-up counter, like Clinique or Lancome. They can help you find a natural look. If you don't want to spend a lot of money on their products, you will at least know what products (foundation, eye shadow, etc) they used and you can buy them from somewhere else. The only thing I buy from a dept store is foundation...its hard to match them in store like WalMart or Target.
Start off with a natural look.

Always moisturize your skin before any makeup, especially with an spf of at least 15.

A tinted moisturizer will even out your skin tone without looking like you've put on foundation.

Apply a little blush to the apples of your cheeks while you're smiling.

If you want to use eyeshadow, I would suggest a very natural yet chic shimmery brown. Also highlight your brow bone with a gold shimmer or white shimmer. Also use the same shimmer in the corners of your eyes.

Use black masacra, no eyeliner.

A nude coral colored lipgloss would look natural and pretty. I like Revlon's Superlustrous Lipgloss in Nude Lustre.

Buy items depending on your skintone.

If you look better in corals, oranges, purples and gold jewelery, then your of a warmer skintone.

If you look better in pastel colors and silver jewelery, then your of a cooler skin tone.
Start with the basics: blush, mascara, and lip gloss. Good luck!
Less is more.

Mascara, blush, lip gloss.

Work your way into the foundation...maybe some tinted moisturizer to start. And EYEBROWS are the frame of your face. If you haven't plucked or shaped before, have a pro do it first. They see what you don't.
start with natural colors that almost blend in with ur skin and work ur way up
just buy the almay color for your eyes, let the rest of the face go natural. This way it gives the eyes a little sparkle but not going overboard.
you wouldn't want to put on too much so if you are darker skin girl u would put on darker make up of course but again not to much
Yay! Makeup is fun. It's one of those things you can change with your mood.

As for where to start, I'd say start with your face overall first. By that I mean a nice foundation, or a nice tinted moisturizer, depending on what you're trying to do....a tinted moisturizer will just kind of smooth everything over, whereas a foundation will give you just a little more coverage and even everything out (my personal preference - I feel like I'm starting with a ';blank slate.';)

For this, seriously, head over to the Clinque counter. They'll give you a skin consult, and help you not only find the right color, they'll help you find the right formula to match your skin type (oily, dry, comination, etc.) They can also direct you to some other colors in eye makeup (if you want eye makeup) as well as cheek color. Even if you don't buy it all there, it will give you a pretty good idea of what to look for.

The other thing I'd add would be a nice blush. You can't go wrong with a lovely pink. I actually just typed that into another answer, but it's true. Pink is universally flattering, makes you look warm and fresh and glow-y.

To top it off, some clear mascara - that will define your eyes without you feeling like you piled on a whole bunch of eye makeup.
Hi first of all just start with a foundation that matches your skin tone and get a shine free pressed powder and dot under the eyes with a concealer and on other blemished if there are any and massage in with your finger. Then make sure you buy a waterproof mascara you dont want no smudges or streaks, i would get a volumising one to make your eyes stand out more, Then apply a little pink lip gloss and your good to go. Treat yourself to some eye shadow have a look in the shops at what brands are on offer as everyone will be wearing these colours. If you like the colour then i say get it. At first you may think it looks to much as you dont normally wear make up but you will look fine.
Less is more! Wear a tinted moisturizer if you want to balance the skin tone instead of foundation. Wear a dab of blush (not the powder kind!) on the apple of your cheeks. If you want to experiment with eye shadow go ahead, but I always found that a coat of mascara and an eyelash curler give your eyes that pop without looking too overdone. For lips I'd stay with a clear or light colored gloss.

Also if you havent already, have your eyebrows shaped by a professional. It automatically gives you more of a completed look without the use of makeup at all.
Hi!

First, make sure you have cleaned and moisturized your face. For beginners I recommend using some mascara. (Don't go overboard) and then some lip gloss. Lip gloss can be a very good start in your make up regiment. experiment with colors and textures. From there on if you want to make more of an expression for going out and such try curling your eyelashes and then using 1-2 coats of mascara to the top lashes only. If you have blond eyelashes then use 1-2 coats of mascara on the bottom lashes. You want to use waterproof mascara to begin with. Also, remember to remove the mascara at night or it may stain your pillow, etc..

Lip Gloss is one of the easiest make up tool you can use to enhance your face and your mood. It goes on easy and most of the time you don't need to line your lips.
