Advice from other women with PCOS, who have gotten pregnant...?

What did you do? Were you on medicine? Did you go through fertility treatments? How long did it take you to conceive?Advice from other women with PCOS, who have gotten pregnant...?
Everyone with PCOS is different and has different symptoms.

Here is my story.

Symptoms:

Overweight

Irregular and non existent periods for months

slightly high testosterone level.

Acne

I was orignally put on the pill to get my periods regular well that doesn't work because they are not natural.

Last year in end sept i started taking Metformin (research this) 1500mg a day. In Oct had no period but started losing weight, acne got better. In Nov i spotted for 2 weeks. In Dec i had my first natural period since going off pill in aug.

I got pregnant in Jan and now have a healthy 3 week old boy.

I also followed a low Gi diet, and went to aqua aerobics twice a week. I lost 10 kg and i really think this helped.

You may not be overweight but metformin may help you because it is the sugar levels in your blood that make the hormones nuts.

Try looking at these websites they helped me alot.

Good luck.Advice from other women with PCOS, who have gotten pregnant...?
Hi, I did take metformin and provera to regulate my almost non-existent menstrual cycle and conceived on my first cycle of clomid. I now have a healthy 4 month old daughter. But also please remember to have a calm mind and stay positive.

I have PCOS and I have gotten pregnant 3 times. The first time I got pregnant all on my own with no medications after 5 months of trying and had a beautiful little boy who weighed 10lbs 2 oz. I unfortunately lost my second pregnancy which was also conceived without medication. I conceived my 3rd pregnancy after using metformin for about 6 months. I also lost the 3rd pregnancy due to what we now know is a genetic blood clotting disorder so the loses had nothing to do with the PCOS. I am now taking Clomid and we are getting ready to start round 4. Just because you have PCOS does not mean you can't get pregnant. Stay positive and keep your head up. Remember if you can't get pregnant on your own there are plenty of fertility treatments you can use. Good luck and God Bless.
I got told when i was 15 i had pcos and would never concieve naturaly, but in june 2006 i got quite sick and lost nearly 4 stone in the space of 7 weeks and the after i had lost the weight the first time i had intercourse i concieved my daughter, she was born premature in december 2006 and i never lost my baby weight i have since been ttc again for nearly 2 years, i stated testing my ovulation and was not ovulating at all then i took clomid for 3 months and i was ovulting but never managed to concieve, i had to stop clomid because of the ehad aches but am still ttc just naturally without the stress, i would say see i fertility specialist but always look up the treatment they offer you before u take them and if your weight is and issue try your best to loose some as it really does make a massive diffrence.

Good luck sending lots of **** Baby Dust****
hi there...

i'm answering, but it's actually my friend who has PCOS...

she's tried clomid and duphaston for a few cycles but it didn't work.

on her most recent cycle, she decided to rest from all the meds and wanted to try naturally.

However, her period was really very late and the doctor told her to drink provera to induce her period already. Still, no period came, and SHE GOT PREGNANT instead!!! =)

good luck to you!
